Echo Mountain House
Mount Lowe Railway
From his Civil War days on, Professor Lowe loved pomp and ceremony. Completion of each new installation and hotel provided an excuse for a celebration.
Echo Mountain House was finished on November 24, 1894.
In this view, Professor Lowe, many of his friends, and Pasadena civic leaders line the wide verandas of the completed structure for the familiar official photograph.
