Regarding C.P. Rees House. Excerpt from the National Register nomination for the West Mound Street Historic District, which includes this property:
Buildings of primary architectural significance include the C.P. Rees House, the oldest house on the street. Before platting in 1870 and 1876, the north side of West Mound Street was two farms. The Rees House, built c. 1835, is one of the two original farm houses. It is a brick two story house of a Side Hallway plan which is double pile.
