Inscription. The iron truss bridge across the Oconee River was constructed in 1899. It was restored in 2011-2012 with generous support from Robert E. and Sylvia Mathis Gibson, the Athens Area Junior Board of the Watson-Brown Foundation, and members of the Friends of Oconee Hill Cemetery
