Iraqi forces, under the direction of dictator Saddam Hussein, invaded neighboring Kuwait on August 2, 1990. Operation Desert Storm was the successful United States and allied forces response to this invasion. It lasted from January 17 to February 28, 1991, resulting in the liberation of Kuwait.
Operation Enduring Freedom is the official name used by the United States government to describe operations in Afghanistan following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The U.S. linked these terrorist attacks to Al Qaeda, a group that operated under the Taliban regime's protection in Afghanistan. Operation Enduring Freedom lasted from October 2001 to December 2014.
Operation Iraqi Freedom was a United States mission designed to disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction, to end the regime of Iraq's dictator Saddam Hussein
