Reinhardstraße

“Reinhard Street”
There is a lot to discover on Reinhardstrasse. For example, there is the "Reinhardschlösschen", which was once the official residence of the Counts of Hanau. Particularly worth seeing is the Reinhardskirche, which was originally built between 1731 and 1733 as a Lutheran church. Since 1908 it has been a Russian Orthodox church, where the Tsar's family celebrated the Tsarevich's name day in 1910.

A legend (in translation): There is a legend about Reinhardstrasse, or rather, about the "little castle" that once stood here. It wasn't really a castle, more of a fairly large house. No one knows exactly when it was built. It was first mentioned in 1569. The large house, remnants of which still stand today, stretched as far as Stresemannstrasse and because the Counts of Hanau took up their official residence here from 1710 onwards, the house was then called the little castle. Because a count like that doesn't need a house, he needs a castle.(Submitted on June 26, 2024.)
The legend of the ghostly music
The legend that revolves around the little castle is, as is often the case, more of a ghost story, because people said that "whenever the old cook was alone in the house, the cellar door opened and white figures appeared. They carried copper wash kettles and played spooky music.” So just go to the house and maybe, who knows, you'll hear the wash kettles. In 1860, the old splendor came to an end. The saltworks administration had the north wing torn down. The south wing, which still stands today, was preserved and the spa and bathing director and the police moved in.
