Regarding Bateman House. Excerpt from the amended National Register nomination for the district:
Homes were also reoriented from facing one street to another 75 East Fountain and 740 Ivy are examples. Known as the Warner Bateman House, the house at 740 Ivy originally faced Woodbine [Avenue]. Sometime in the 1910s, the entrance was moved to Ivy and the rear of the property was split off into several small lots where bungalows were built at 735, 745, 765, and 775 Woodbine between 1916 and 1937.
