C'est un patio autour duquel sont symétriquement disposées quatre pièces dont l'une était autrefois garnie de glaces offertes en 1898 par le gouvernement français à Ba Ahmed.
Cet ensemble dont le sol est entièrement pavé de marbre et de « zelliges » (carreaux de céramique), constituait l'un des appartement privés de Ba Ahmed. A partir de1912, les salles ont été transformés en chambres pour les officiers français.
Les plafonds, les vantaux des portes et fenêtres en bois de cèdre peint sont remarquables.
The Small Courtyard
It is a patio with four rooms symmetrically arranged around it. One of these rooms was once adorned with glass offered by the French government to Ba Ahmed in 1898.
This complex, which was paved entirely in marble and zelliges (ceramic tiles), constituted Ba Ahmed's private apartments. As from 1912, the rooms were converted into bedrooms for the French officers.
The ceilings together with the door and window wings, made of cedar, are all noteworthy.
تعرف بوسط الدار " قاع الدار "، وهي عبارة عن سكنى خاصة ذات صحن مبلط بقطع الرخام والزليج وتتوسطه نافورة من الرخام الأبيض، وتحيط به أربعة أروقة بأقواس تطل عليها أربعة غرف كبيرة مغطاة بسقوف خشبية مختلفة الأشكال ومتنوعة الزخارف. وتشير بعض المصادر إلى أن جدران واحدة من غرف هذا الجناح كانت مزينة بمرايا كبيرة أهديت إلى اباحماد من طرف الحكومة الفرنسية سنة 1898. ولقد وقف هذا الجناح مقرا للضباط الفرنسيين خلال فترة الحماية الفرنسية.
