Sgt. Wade piloted a glider in a 40 glider
assault in the night assault carrying men
and a 75 mm Howitzer.
The 319th suffered 40% losses
to gliders due to enemy fire and
collisions on the night of 6 June 1944.
He was raised on Hanna Lane, Londonderry
a teacher by trade.
