In honor of 568 residents of Hennepin County who gave their lives in defense of liberty

The Great War
1914-1918


Sunday
November 11, 1928
on the tenth anniversary of the signing of the armistice ending the World War the citizens of Hennepin County reverently assembled under the auspices of the Memorial Commission and the American Legion to dedicate these crosses marking the trees previously dedicated to the 568 World War dead of Hennepin County and the ten G.A.R. posts of Minneapolis
