1. Timber Farming Marker
Timber framing was used in many farm buildings. Simple tools were used to construct large, strong structures held together with wooden pegs and interlocking joints. Look throughout the farm buildings for this method of joinery.

Pre-assembled sections called bents are raised into position with pike poles.
The beam joints were cut at the Farm and the building erected as part of a public display by Metro Parks' staff and volunteers and members of the Timber Framers Guild in June 2001.
