1. Danby House Marker
Milo Meacham built the Village's second hotel on this site. Besides rental rooms it housed a popular ice cream parlor and large meeting hall. Political meetings and debates filled the hall with bitter voices over political issues, including slavery. Reports say that Abraham Lincoln spoke here. Dances and home talent brought a lighter fare-one of which was the band and minstrel troupe show organized by returning Civil War soldiers.
