Replica of Jumbo
This is a replica of the majestic African elephant named Jumbo who enchanted millions while in the circus owned by Tufts University trustee P.T. Barnum. Jumbo's stuff remains were donated to Tufts by Barnum in 1989 and displayed in Barnum Hall until destroyed by fire in 1975. This statue was made possible through the generosity of Richard W. Reynolds, A67 in celebration of the 125th anniversary of the original Jumbo's arrival on the Tufts Campus.
