1. First Railroad Depot Marker

Inscription.

In 1851 the first railroad station in Glen Ellyn was built by Dr. E Q Newton on this site for the Chicago Galena and Union Railway. The depot served the Chicago and North Western Railway from 1864-1895. It was replaced by a "new" station located a few yards to the east.

Erected by Glen Ellyn Historical Society.
