1. Coors Building Marker

Inscription. A year after it was built, beer baron Adolph Coors purchased this building from stockbrokers William P. Bonbright and J. Arthur Connell. Coors then leased the property to Henry Bunte for his B.B. Saloon, with the agreement that Bunte feature Coors' products.

The German-born Coors practiced the European tradition of brewery ownership of local pubs. In Colorado he built his distribution system - buying buildings and leasing them to saloon proprietors. By the time Coors beer came to Cripple Creek, the Adolph Coors Golden Brewery owned pubs and sold beer throughout the state.
