What did it do?
Driven by belts from a 40 horsepower electric motor, this machine pressurized air that was piped throughout the factory.
Compressed air was a utility in many industrial facilities, much like water and electricity. To this day it is a reliable, heat resistant, and spark-free power source. Although this compressor was used in a blouse mill, it is a standard catalog product sold to a wide range of industries, from underground mines to steel mills.
