Stroll through Selmer’s Historical Downtown and enjoy the Mesker’s architectural features, the Meskers are storefront facades made from metal, cast iron and cast steel dating from the 1880’s to 1910. Meskers buildings’ features include rosettes, fleur-de-lis, hanging wreaths, and recessed doorways. The Selmer Meskers have been identified, numbered and listed in the database of the Illinois historic preservation agency.
