1. Minuteman Red Maple Marker

Inscription.
On April 19, 1775, at the site of modern day Minuteman National Historic Park in Concord, Massachusetts, the colonial militia fired the "shot heard around the world," beginning the American Revolution. The Minuteman Red Maple stands in silent tribute to the brave soldiers, sworn to be "ready in a minute," who fought and died for our country.

As indicated by its name, some portion of the Red Maple is red throughout the year, beginning with the blossoms and seeds in spring, followed by summer stems, autumn leaves, and winter twigs and buds.
