M.I.A. Aug 6, 1944 while on patrol
in the city of Brest, France.
Listed KIA on Sept. 1, 1944
when his body was recovered.
His division landed at Utah Beach on D+28 Days.
"Bob" was interred in St. James American Cemetery
in Rennes, France.
He was returned to Londonderry
for reburial in 1948.
He was one of 10 children
raised on the family farm on Hanna Lane,
Londonderry
"A true American hero and our family hero,
who made the ultimate sacrifice."
