1. Regional Artist John Bloom Marker
Regional artist John Bloom, a Dewitt native, spent much of his career drawing, painting and printing scenes from the DeWitt area. Bloom studied at Grant Wood's Stone City and at the Chicago Art Institute. His work was influenced by Wood, Cιzanne and Picasso. In 1937 Bloom was commissioned by the WPA to paint a mural - Shucking Corn. Shucking Corn is on display at city hall along with a number of Bloom's other works.
