1. Monett Football Marker

Inscription. In 1921, Monett was known for having a legendary football team as well as having an undefeated season of eleven games. Finis Engleman was the coach of this legendary team. Monett had a great season that year going against Arkansas 57 to 0, Republic 94 to 0, and Mt. Vernon 70 to 0. The Monett team was so strong and fast an official complained he was not qualified to officiate. A Monett Times newspaper from 1962 has a formal portrait of the team with 31 people in the portrait; it shows each of the players and the coach in the portrait.

Our high school team had an amazing season in 1971, winning state. They won the Big 10 Conference Championship and Class 2A State Championship with a score of 12-0: an undefeated season. They also had another state championship season in 1977 with coach Lawson leading them on to a state title with 11-2 record. Monett's 3rd title was in 2016 with a score of 27-18 victory against Maryville led by coach Derrek Uhl in the Class 3A State Championship.

2. Monett High School Football Program. The program was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2018 based upon the school's on-field success since 1967, when Burl Fowler became the head coach.
