1. Red Oak II Train Station Marker

Inscription. r Lowell had always wanted to have a train station at Red Oak II. He would travel around the area looking for old, abandoned train stations that could be moved to Red Oak II. Unfortunately these train stations are in high demand with railroading clubs who snap them up as soon as they become available.

Mr. Lowell decided the only way to get a train station at Red Oak II was to build one. The restored train stations at the Corona Train Depot and Railroad Museum, west of Scammon, KS, were the main models that he used. The foundation was laid and construction of the train station began in 2013. The building structure way completed in 2014 and the interior finished in subsequent years. The interior is set up like a working train station and may someday have several model trains running inside.

Coming in the summer of 2024, a 36" gauge steam locomotive from Riverside Amusement Park in Agawam, MA, and custom built tender, flat car and caboose will be set up on the track in front of the station.
