1. Fort Hooker Marker

Inscription. Marshal Hooker had built a log fort on a property that he had owned a mile north of Phelps, MO on Hwy UU. The house on that property had burned down but the fort was still standing. Mr. Lowell contacted the owner and was able to get permission to relocate the log fort to Red Oak II. It was not possible to move the fort intact so it was disassembled and the logs were moved to Red Oak II, a foundation was built and the fort reassembled. The entire process took place in 2016. Mr. Lowell called it Fort Hooker after Marshal Hooker.
