Excerpt (in translation): Israel Gross was born in Riga, Latvia. He came to Norway in 1897 and established himself as a trader, first in Rendalen, then as owner of the shoe store Cordial Skotøymagasin AS in Oslo. Israel Gross was unmarried.

On 26 October 1942, Israel was arrested by Norwegian state police and taken to Bredtveit prison. Two days later he was transferred to Berg prison camp outside Tønsberg. From here he was deported on the transport ship Danube on 26 November to Stettin, and from there to the extermination camp Auschwitz. Upon arrival at the camp on 1 December 1942, Israel Gross was sent straight to the gas chamber and killed.
