Inscription. There were four Enlisted Men's Barracks located on Fort Screven but only one remains. The remaining Enlisted Men's Barrack building was built in 1910 and could sleep 109 men It was built at a cost of $24,523 which would amount to $720,000 in 2022.

All four barrack buildings had electricity added in 1912. In 1938, due to overcrowding, all four buildings had their porches enclosed to accommodate more men. By enclosing the porches they were able to add sleeping space for 15 more soldiers or 60 men total.

The remaining barrack building's exterior was restored to its original 1910 appearance in 2020 and is currently available for vacation rentals.
