1. A School Lesson Marker

Inscription. The City of Tybee Island was incorporated in 1887, and a small year round population had developed creating a need for local services including a school. The first Tybee School was in an old wooden structure at the turn of the century, and a new building was built in 1955 in the mid- century style.
