With the prayer that their sacrifice for their countrymen will be forever honored among us, we dedicate this tree to the memory of all those from the LaGrange area who perished while serving in our military forces during times of war.
 
Erected 1998 by National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, La Grange, Illinois Chapter.

The marker is seen across the street from Elm Park.
the plaques references 14 memorial trees that were planted on the Brainard Avenue parkway in 1921. This particular marker, dedicated in 1998, is about 15 feet away from one of the 1921 markers.
