Max Manus (f. 09.12.1914 d. 20.09.1996)

Motstandsmann under 2. verdenskrig. Han deltok som frivillig i Vinterkrigen i Finland i 1940 og under felttoget i Norge i 1940. Militζr utdanning i Storbritannia fra 1941 i Norwegian Independent Company 1, NORIC 1, kjent som Kompani Linge. Ledet flere aksjoner mot tyske skip og andre viktige mεl. Sζrlig kjent for senkningen av DS Donau i januar 1945. Ogsε en del av sabotasjegruppen Oslogjengen, som var en av de mest betydningsfulle sabotasje- gruppene. Han mottok en lang rekke dekorasjoner under og etter krigen, deriblant Krigskorset m/2 sverd. Max Manus er en av Norges hψyest dekorerte menn.

Max Manus (born December 9, 1914 - died September 20, 1996)

WW II Resistance fighter Max Manus volunteered for Finland during the Soviet-Finnish war in 1940 and fought in the Norwegian campaign in April 1940. Beginning SOE-training in Norwegian Independent Company 1, NORIC 1 in the UK from 1941, he became leader of several sabotage missions against German shipping and other targets, including the sinking of the DS Donau in January 1945. Manus was also a member of the sabotage group "Oslogjengen", described by SOE as the most successful group in wartime Europe. Max Manus is one of Norway's most decorated men.
