The square includes dozens of shops, the courthouse and park with historic fountain, the Katy depot that houses the chamber of commerce and places to eat. Most of the buildings have been restored to their early 19th-century appearance. Olde Glory Days is celebrated around the square every Fourth of July and is one of Clinton's festive highlights., The Henry County Museum is located just west of the square at 203 West Franklin Street. The main museum building is the historic Anheuser-Busch building constructed in 1886 as a distribution center. The museum also includes an 1850s homestead and the Adair Annex that houses the museum's art gallery and an authentic reproduction of a turn-of-the-century village. Hours of operation vary, and a small admission fee is charged., The Clinton Community Center is home to the city's parks and recreation offices. A variety of activities and facilities are available at the community center, including basketball, a fitness center, showers and a walking track. The center is located just south of this trailhead at 1004 East Sedalia Street., Harry S. Truman Reservoir, located south and east of town, provides numerous recreational opportunities such as camping, boating, fishing and picnicking. Harry S Truman State Park is located on the lake, approximately 25 miles east on Highway 7. Sparrowfoot and Copper Creek recreation areas, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, are located less than 10 miles south of Clinton., Artesian Park has been a local attraction since the late 1880s. The park was born when gas-drilling activity struck water under pressure. The resulting artesian well formed the nucleus of the park. Soon, the park included an elegant three-story hotel, fairgrounds, a lake, bathhouses and regular passenger train service. With the construction of Harry S. Truman Reservoir, Artesian Park underwent changes. The hotel and swimming beaches are gone as well as passenger train service. Today, visitors will find a public swimming pool, picnic areas and other day-use facilities.
