Malaga Cove Plaza
In 2021 Malaga Cove Plaza was listed in the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior.
Conceived as part of the master plan for the City of Palos Verdes Estates by planner Charles Cheney and landscape architects the Olmsted Brothers, this arcaded Mediterranean Revival plaza was built between 1925 and 1964.
The buildings were designed by several prominent local architects.
Malaga Cove Plaza has been restored and maintained with support from the Malaga Cove Plaza Beautification Project, Inc. and the Motley Living Trust, honoring Morynne Motley, a community advocate who sought to protect this important community resource.
