1. Hike the Refugee Trail Marker
Inscription. Located in the valley below was a small city of Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk people) and local refugees, soldiers and warriors, women and children followers, boatmen, and laborers. They and the army’s hospital, boats, carts, extra artillery, and supplies were protected by three hilltop fortifications dominating the valley.
