Founded here on September 10, 1929, by Rolf Letting and Unge Gutter. From this neighborhood the fighting boys have with their pride and fluctuating music style spread joy in Oslo and throughout the rest of Norway. Recipient of the Oslo City's Artist Award.

2. Kampen Janitsjarorkester Marker - wide view
has been the musical pride of Oslo's eastern districts and a well-known contributor to the musical atmosphere of the city.

The orchestra regularly tours both in and outside of Norway. The multitalented Letting was the orchestra's conductor for 42 years and the musician and composer Frode Thingnζs for 38 years. The orchestra has released a number of CDs. In 1995, the orchestra received Oslo City's artist award, in 1999 Frode Thingnζs, on behalf of the orchestra, became a "Citizen of New Orleans". In 2018, the orchestra was depicted on a postage stamp - and received Bydel Gamle Oslo's Culture Prize in 2019.
