Regarding Authuille War Memorial. The first name on the memorial, Boromιe Vaquette, was the first victim of the village in the Great War. While he was staking out an area for his cows near Thiepval, he was killed on September 27, 1914 at the age of 49.
Born in 1865 in Ovillers-la-Boisselle, Boromιe was a farmer. He married Arsιline Porquet with whom he had four children, Julien, Amιlia, Julienne and Rose. The family lived on Rue du Moulin.
