In 1947, Elvis and his family attended church at this location, previously known as the Assembly of God. Rev. Frank Smith was the pastor of the church during this time and was very influential in Elvis' life. Not only did they become good friends, but Rev. Smith also helped young Elvis develop his guitar skills.
