Toby Harrah, SS-3B-2B. Playing career: 1969; 1971-86. The Rangers first all-star. His versatility allowed him to excel as a starter at three infield positions in his two tours of duty with the Rangers. Ranks second in club history with 668 walks and 143 stolen bases and places in the top ten in eight other offensive categories. Was the Rangers Player of the Year in 1975 and a three-time all-star selection, including 1972, when he was replaced due to injury. Hit at least 20 homers three times with four seasons of 90+ walks. Started at shortstop in the Rangers first five seasons in Texas before moving to third base in 1977. Returned to Arlington as the starting second baseman in 1985, posting the most walks (113) and second-highest on-base percentage (432) in club history that season. Had a .264 career average in 2155 games over 17 seasons with the Senators, Rangers, Indians, and Yankees. Following his retirement coached and managed for the Rangers on the major and minor league level. Served as Rangers Manager over the second half of the 1992 season. Texas Rangers Baseball Hall of Fame. Inducted August 1, 2009.
