Rusty Greer, OF. Playing Career: 1994-2004. Nicknamed the Red Baron, a perennial fan favorite who was best known for his countless number of diving catches in the outfield, including one in the top of the 9th to save Kenny Rogers' perfect game on July 28, 1994. Played in 1,027 games and posted a .305 career average. At the time of his retirement, was ranked among the Top 10 in club history in 17 batting categories and had 6 career grand slams, 643 runs scored, 1,166 hits, 258 doubles, 25 triples, 614 RBI, and 119 home runs. Batted .332 as a standout performer of the 1996 AL West Division Championship team and also appeared in the 1998 and 1999 postseasons. One of the top clutch performers in Rangers history, driving in game-winning runs in the team's last at-bat 17 times. Named Rangers Rookie of the Year in 1994 and was a two-time Rangers Player of the Month. Drafted in the 10th round by the Rangers in 1990 and played his entire career as a Texas Ranger at the major league level. Texas Rangers Baseball Hall of Fame. Inducted August 11, 2007.
