Adater du 17e siècle, les constructions en bois laissent progressivement la place aux maisons en maçonnerie. C'est l'avènement du style Renaissance mosane, une interprétation locale du style Louis XIII. La maison Pirenne est un bel exemple du style Renaissance mosane tardif.
La structure rationnelle de sa façade est animée et embellie par divers décrochements dans les parements de pierre et de briques: soubassements et chaines d'angles alternativement en saillie et en retrait, bandeaux horizontaux en saillie et pierres carrées au milieu des panneaux de briques. La maison possède la première corniche moulurée de Belgique. A remarquer son toit percé de fenêtres et l'œil-de- bœuf qui domine la porte d'entrée.
Vanaf de 17e eeuw ruimen houten constructies geleidelijk plaats voor gemetselde huizen. Hier doet de Maaslandse renaissance zijn intrede, een plaatselijke interpretatie van de Lodewijk XIII-stijl. Het huis Pirenne is een mooi voorbeeld van de late Maaslandse renaissancestijl.

Ab dem 17. Jahrhundert weichen die Holzbauten allmählich Häusern aus Mauerwerk. Es folgt die Blütezeit des maasländischen Renaissance-Stils, einer lokalen Variante des Louis XIII-Stils. Das Haus Pirenne ist ein schönes Beispiel für den späten maasländischen Renaissance- Stil.
Mehrere Versetzungen in den Stein- und Ziegelsteinornamenten beleben und verschönern die rationelle Fassadenstruktur: abwechselnd herausspringende und zurückstehende Sockel und Winkelketten, waagerecht vorspringende Streifen und viereckige Steine inmitten von Ziegelsteinplatten. Das Haus besitzt das erste Kranzgesims Belgiens. Auffällig sind die Dachfenster und das Ochsenauge über der Eingangstür.

The rational structure of the façade is enlivened and embellished by various loose figures in the stone and brick facings: lower walls and corner stones alternately protruding and recessed, protruding horizontal bands and square stones in the middle of brick walls. The house has the first cornice with mouldings in Belgium. Note the roof with windows and the round window that dominates the entrance door.
