Captain Samuel Gwin Home
(top plaque:)
Grand Boulevard and its magnificent beauty are the product and vision of Captain Samuel Gwin and his wife, Sally. They built this home in 1912 for themselves and their five children: Mildred, Samuel, Elizabeth, Sara, and Eleanor. Miss Sally planted the beautiful oak trees along the boulevard which have for many years, and will for many years to come, provide a path and inspiration to all who travel it.
I shall be forever grateful that in 1995 one of the five children, Sara Gwin Kelsh, along with her nieces and nephews, allowed me to purchase this home. May the good Lord bless all who pass beneath these giant oaks.
(bottom plaque:)
As immortality is reflected in the sands of time, Sara Gwin "Saizie" Kelsh has left a legacy of love, honor, integrity and humor to her beloved children, Pat, Sara, Helen, Hub and Mary, and her dear and precious friend, Johnnie Wiggins. We shall all among these giant oaks of her forefathers, remember her in the vision of all the earth's creatures which she dearly loved.
In deepest appreciation and admiration, we honor her memory.
Erected 1999 by A. Lee Abraham Jr.
