Excerpt (in translation): Apotekergata 10 B consists of an outbuilding built in the 1870s and a main building registered for construction in 1891. The company C. and C. Knudsen's coffee roastery was started in 1888 and a few years later moved into the main building and remained there until 1995. More details in the interior which reminds of the more than a century-old business, has been preserved.

Coffee production was previously carried out by hand and an oven. During the war, when all coffee imports stopped, the ovens were used to roast grain

for the production of coffee substitutes. A tall chimney rises above the house, which was supposed to carry smells and smoke away from the neighbourhood.

Apotekergata 10 B is an example of the many small industrial enterprises near the city center that grew from the latter half of the 19th century to approx. 1930. Knudsen's coffee roaster is the only preserved facility of this type.
