1. The Traveling Church Monument
Inscription.
On this site in 1781 Pastor Lewis Craig and Capt. Wm. Ellis and members of the Upper Spotsylvania Virginia Baptist Church established the first church west of the Alleghany Mountains, which is known as the Traveling Church
 
Erected 1947 by Lancaster Baptist Church. (Marker Number 25.)

Location. Marker has been permanently removed. It was located near 37° 34.677′ N, 84° 33.523′ W. Marker was near Lancaster, Kentucky, in Garrard County. It could be reached from the intersection of Gilberts Creek Road (Kentucky Route 39) and Lancaster-Crab Orchard Road ( Route 642), on the left when traveling north.
