Inscription. The Air Force F-117A "Nighthawk" Ingress/Egress Trainer was used to train F-117 pilots in ingress entrance, emergency ground egress exit, and ejection/bailout procedures. It is equipped with all the controls and indicators found in a real F-117 cockpit needed to simulate these activities. The trainer contains a smoke generator unit that produces a white non-toxic, non-corrosive smoke that can be injected into the cockpit when desired, reproducing actual emergency egress/ejection conditions with a maximum of realism.

Fun Fact: The F-117A's faceted shape (made from 2-dimensional flat surfaces) is a direct result of the 1970s era computer technology used to design the aircraft and calculate its radar cross-section. Later supercomputers with far more computational capability made it possible for subsequent stealth aircraft like the B-2 bomber and F-22 to use curved surfaces and remain stealthy.
