1. First Presbyterian Church Marker
The congregation was organized in 1839 and this building was erected in 1851. The architect was Lucas Bradley, an elder of this church. The building has won national recognition as a superb example of the Greek Revival style. Authorities have praised the "sincerity and refinement" of the design, the high quality of the workmanship, and the overall effect of "quiet elegance and repose."
