Inscription. The anchor of the Rangers rotation for nearly a decade, his knuckleball baffled the opposition. Pitched longer for Texas than anyone in history. Is the all-time club leader with 139 wins, 98 complete games, 2,307.2 innings, and 1,452 strikeouts. Led the Rangers in wins and innings for seven consecutive seasons from 1982-1988. Worked at least 250 innings five times and posted double-figure win totals each year from 1982-1990. Was a record six-time honoree as Rangers Pitcher of the Year. Demeanor off the field earned him two Good-Guy awards from local BBWAA chapter. Won 216 games in 25 seasons overall with Dodgers, Rangers, White Sox, and Marlins. Texas Rangers Baseball Hall of Fame. Inducted August 2, 2003.
