1. F-1 Rocket Engine Marker
Inscription. The F-1 is the most powerful single chamber, liquid-fuel rocket engine ever flown. Five of these engines were used to power the first stage of the Saturn V rocket which carried astronauts to the Moon. The engine was built by the Rocketdyne division of North American Aviation, now The Boeing Company.

Weight - 18,500 pounds (8,391 kg)
Thrust - 1,522,000 pounds (6,712,020 newtons)
Propellants - RP-1 kerosene/liquid oxygen

Fun Fact: The power generated by the five F-1 engines on the Saturn V rocket was equivalent to 190 giga watts (1Gw=1000Mw), almost twice the peak electrical power consumption of France...or over 90 times the peak power produced by the Hoover Dam...or over 630 times more powerful than a Boeing 747 aircraft.

The F-1 is a rocket engine developed by Rocketdyne. The engine uses a gas-generator cycle developed in the United States in the late 1950s and was used in the Saturn V rocket in the 1960s and early 1970s. Five F-1 engines were used in the S-IC first stage of each Saturn V, which served as the main launch vehicle of the Apollo program. The F-1 remains the most powerful single combustion chamber liquid-propellant rocket engine ever developed.
