—— Fiddletown-Oleta ——
Settled in 1849 by a party from Missouri. According to tradition they were always fiddling, especially while waiting for the rainy season—hence the name..... It was changed by state legislature in 1878 to Oleta, an Indian name said to mean “Old Home Spring.”

Constructed in 1862, and served as a schoolhouse until 1955. Currently being renovated for use as a schoolhouse museum.

The Foo Kee general store was constructed in 1850. Restoration was completed in 2008, and there are plans to use this structure, along with the neighboring Chinese gambling hall, as a museum.
