Here you can see where the First Battle of Saratoga was fought on Freeman's Farm. The British won that fight.

Make your way clockwise through Freeman's Farm to first learn about the battle fought here on September 19. The white posts you see topped with red show where the British built the log-and-earth walls of the massive Light Infantry Redoubt.

Near the end of your walk, you can learn how the British forces fell back here on October 7. During this Second Battle of Saratoga, the Light Infantry Redoubt was strong enough to repel the Americans' assault.
