One of the brightest and best was Mayor Pete Wilson, who reawakened downtown and led collaborative efforts that produces a vibrant urban place, a place where families can grow and a diverse, urban population can live, work, play and learn. His strong character, vision and passion and improving the city attracted support from civic boosters, business leaders and the public.
