Inscription. Captain of the Rangers' infield at four different positions over an illustrious 12-year career. Is the all-time Washington/Texas franchise leader with 1823 games, 7399 at bats, 1085 runs, 2230 hits, 415 doubles, 55 triples, 3286 total bases, and 651 multi-hit games. Ranks third with 984 RBI and 647 extra base hits. Hit .301 overall with Texas while batting .300 or better a club record seven times, including an AL best .331 in 2005. Is one of 16 players in Major League history with at least six seasons of 200 hits with a streak of five consecutive years from 2003-07. Captured five Rangers Player of the Year awards to match most ever. Was a seven-time All-Star, earning MVP honors in 2006 ASG [All Star Game] at San Diego, and is only player in All-Star Game history with two game-winning hits in team's final at bat. Played first three ML seasons at second base and moved to shortstop in 2004, winning Gold Glove at that position in 2008. Switched to third base in 2009 before spending much of final two seasons with Texas at first base. Is the only player in Major League history to start at least 130 games in a season at 2B, SS,

and 3B. Excelled in community, winning two MLBPA Marvin Miller Man of the Year awards. Split final season in 2013 with Phillies and Dodgers, finishing with career .300 average, 185 homers and 1030 RBI in 1970 games. Inducted July 30, 2016.
