Josh Hamilton, OF. Playing Career: 2007-15. The offensive catalyst for the Rangers' American League Championship teams in 2010 and 2011. With a combination of power and speed, was one of the Major League's top performers from 2008-12. Posted a batting line of .305/.363/.549 with 142 home runs and 506 RBI in that five-year span after being acquired from Cincinnati in December 2007. From 2008-12, was among the MLB leaders in slugging (5th), RBI (8th), and batting average (10th). Was selected as an A.L. All-Star starter in all five years. In 2008, led the A.L. with 130 RBI and 331 total bases and hit a record 28 home runs in the first round of the All-Star Home Run Derby at Yankee Stadium. Earned 2010 BBWAA A.L. Most Valuable Player award after leading MLB with club record .359 batting average and .633 slugging percentage. Was also MVP of 2010 ALCS versus New York. Belted a career-best 43 homers with 128 RBI in 2012, including 16th four-homer game in MLB history on May 8 at Baltimore. Also had A.L. records with five extra base hits and 18 total bases in that game. Appeared in 50 games for A.L. West Champion Rangers in final MLB season in 2015. Ranks third in club history with a career .542 slugging percentage and 901 OPS and is tenth with .302 batting average. Was the Rangers' Player of the Year in 2008 and 2010 and captured A.L. Silver Slugger awards in 2008, 2010, and 2012. Had a .290 average with 200 homers and 701 RBI in 1027 career games with Cincinnati, Texas, and the Los Angeles Angels from 2007-15. Inducted August 17, 2019.
