Liberty picked up its first win over an ACC opponent when the Flames knocked off Syracuse 38-21 in the Carrier Dome to move to 5-0 on the season.

NOV. 1, 2020

Liberty received its first national ranking at the FBS level when the Flames were ranked No. 25 in the Associated Press poll.

NOV. 14, 2020

The Flames opened the season with an 8-0 record for the first time in program history following a 58-14 win over Western Carolina at Williams Stadium.

DEC. 26, 2020

Liberty secured its second bowl game win in a row, knocking off No. 9 Coastal Carolina 37-34 in an overtime thriller at the FBC Mortgage Cure Bowl in Orlando, Fla., at Camping World Stadium. The win capped off a 10-1 season for Liberty, tying a school record for wins in a season.

JAN. 1, 2021

Following a 10-1 season, Liberty finished the 2020 campaign ranked No. 17 in the Associated Press poll and No. 18 in the USA Today Coaches poll, the program's first end-of-the-year national ranking at the FBS level.

DEC. 18, 2021

Liberty secured its third bowl game win in a row, defeating Eastern Michigan 56-20 at the Lending Tree Bowl in Mobile, Ala. With the win, Liberty became the second FBS transitioning team in NCAA history to win three straight bowl games during its first three full seasons at the FBS level (joining Appalachian State).

APRIL 29, 2022

Former Liberty Flames standout quarterback Malik Willis became the ninth player in program history to be selected in the NFL Draft when the Tennessee Titans picked him in the third round. Willis was the 86th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Willis is the second highest NFL Draft pick and the first quarterback selected in the NFL Draft in program history.

With the Flames on the verge of moving into their first FBS conference, Liberty hired Jamey Chadwell as the 10th head coach.

Liberty played Oregon in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl - the Flames' first New Year's Six bowl - after achieving the first undefeated regular season in program history and
