1. Sluman Wattles Marker

Inscription. The first settler in the town of Franklin, New York, who built his home here in 1785. One hundred fifty feet south stood the "Treaty Elm" under whose branches he made a treaty with the Indians.

Erected 1927 by The Au-Ly-Ou-Let Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution of Franklin, New York.
